So yesterday I had big plans to go and get a gift certificate for the twins teacher. Today was the last day of school and needless to say I waited until the very last minute. Well I had people putting in a tile backsplash in my kitchen all day and couldn't leave the house. I figured since I was "trapped" in the house for the day I would do something productive. So I made an apron for their teacher for a gift. I luckily had fabric left over from one that I made for a girl at church.. I knew there was a good reason that I always "hoard" fabric- for instances just like this.. need fabric, can't get to the store.
This is what I made- I gave it to their teacher today along with a smaller gift certificate to Starbucks (managed to swing over there late yesterday)- the colors are off- I had to use my flash since I finished it after midnight.. it's black with hot pink..

Makes me wish I were your child's teacher. I did teach the twins in primary a few years ago and never got an end of the year gift from you. So, you can always make it up to me. Okay, just kidding, but I love that pattern. Good way to spend your "trapped" time!
found you through Paige's blog, but I had to write a comment because I had to acknowledged your talents. I love love the apron, and I love the messenger bag and the beach art work it wonderful. There you have it. You must be a very talented and creative person. That's a great talent to have. I always admire that in others, because I wish I had it in me. I do enjoy nice things, just don't have the talent to create it.
Thank you so much for the comment you left on my blog--I truly appreciate the affirmation (I sort of regretted putting it out there) so thank you.
What a beautiful painting btw.
Melissa you are one of the most creative amazingly talented people I know. Your stuff is so amazing. I really want to start sewing some things. I'm aweful, truly aweful. I just made owen this foot pillow and I laughed so hard when it was done I about peed my pants. It is the first thing I have ever sewn besides placemat purses with Cheryl 3 or so years ago. But really, great job on the room and aprons. You and Traci should go in to business together or come here and teach me. Great job!
